Safe Church Conduct Training, September 27th, 11:30 a.m. in Library – Caring for each other is a sacred task in all its settings. Feeling safe (and being safe) in a spiritual and learning environment is paramount to healthy faith formation. The Avon Congregational Church, Avon, CT is committed to creating and maintaining a community in which its members, friends, staff and volunteers can worship and work together in an atmosphere free from any form of sexual discrimination, harassment, or abuse. Pastor Chris will lead a Safe Conduct Training required for all who work with our children and youth. However, this training is helpful for all who are involved in any ministry of our church.
Open discussion meeting – masks required until further notice
Mystery of Religion: Knowing God through Word – Pastor Chris spent a decade or so of his ministerial career developing curriculum for young people to know God through the lens of our Christian heritage. Realizing we at any age seek deeper understanding of the same faith questions, he has re-imagined three related topics into an offering for all adults: World Religions, Images of God, and Sacred Text in the bible. Three evenings (Sept 21, 28 & Oct 12 at 7 pm) of fascinating insights, authentic conversation and redefining previously held assumptions are sure to make this opportunity both educational and spiritually unforgettable. Please sign up by emailing Pastor@Avon-Church.org with your desire to participate. (option of in –person or online)
