Word Processing Volunteer Needed - If you know how to use a word processor, you can add content to our websites. Please contact the church office and let us know you are willing to do this, or contact Bob Burke directly – 860-264-5829 or by email – rbt.burke@gmail.com.

Upcoming Events vs Room Calendar - If you happen to be looking for the church room calendar on the ACC website, look instead over on ACC(plugged-in). It's always been there, too. The church website now is replacing the room reservation calendar with an Upcoming Events announcements page that can be found under, Connect, a navigation tab at the top of the church website page. Upcoming Events also comes each week to you by email as "Avon Congregational Church - Weekly Event Update.”

For 27 years, an ecumenical group sometimes called “Team Church” has been conducting weekly worship services on Thursday mornings at Avon Health Care Center. Ailments and/or business commitments have left the team short of volunteers. Most needed now are people who can greet patients cheerfully, hand out the sheets with the words of hymns and songs, and join in the singing. If you have experience as a worship leader, that talent can be used too! The time commitment is about 50 minutes, from 10:40 to 11:30. Volunteers do not physically assist patients. To learn more, contact Bob Barton at rbrtbarton@aol.com (preferred) or 860-677-0087 (leave message including name and phone number).

The Farmington Historical Society, in collaboration with the Mark Twain House, is presenting the Fisk Jubilee Singers on October 22nd at 7 p.m. at The First Church of Christ Congregational at 75 Main Street in Farmington. This event will pay tribute to the 175th Anniversary of the Amistad captives coming to Farmington. The Fisk Jubilee Singers are an historic American a cappella ensemble that performs Negro spirituals sung by slaves prior to the Civil War. Purchase your tickets by contacting The Mark Twain House/Events online or by calling 860-280-3130. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
