Concerts at Avon Congregational Church presents The Rare Byrds Ensemble of Boston! This dynamic young ensemble will appear in a concert entitled “What Was Old is New Again”. Their performance will feature works for the 2-manual French harpsichord, viola da gamba, violone and Baroque violin. The ensemble performs with the Harvard University Baroque Chamber Orchestra and they look forward to sharing their talents with you in Avon.
On the program are works by Francois Couperin, Heinrich Biber, Michel Blavet, William Byrd and new works composed and performed by ensemble member Albano Berberi. The performance will feature works for the 2-manual harpsichord, viola da gamba, violone and Baroque violin.
The concert will take place in the sanctuary of Avon Congregational Church which is on the National Registry of Historic Places, and handicap accessible. The concert is open to the public free of charge and a free-will offering to benefit the musicians will be accepted. All are welcome. A meet-the-performers reception will take place afterward.
The Rare Byrds Ensemble members Benjamin Rechel, Albano Berberi, and Rebecca Nelson hail from the US, Albania and Germany. Come be mesmerized by the playing of this exquisite, thoughtful ensemble!
