Chester Case helps ACC preserve its history

About 25 years ago, church member Chester Case drew up a new set of building plans for Avon Congregational Church. The plans, rediscovered about a year ago in the church’s files, are giving the church some national recognition. The drawings have been submitted and accepted by the Historic American Building Survey, a national archive of architecture, engineering and landscape documents that is part of the National Park Service and housed at the Library of Congress. The church’s 200th anniversary is in 2019 and the plans that Case, now 93, has created will be showcased as a part of the celebration. Read the story at the Hartford Courant.
